BearingPoint helped EDF Group to build its new Finance Reference Guide and define: Group’s steering principles, in terms of financial cycle, indicators, information systems, investments and cash management.
Objectives of the project
BearingPoint helped EDF Group to build its new Finance Reference Guide. The goal of this action was to implement within the EDF Group, and in addition to financial culture actions, some mutual practices and language, understood and shared by everyone.
Those practice aimed at improving the financial piloting of the Group in particular in the context of the recent IPO and in the timeframe of a very ambitious finance transformation program.
Measurable & concrete results
The guide has been deployed to the whole Group, both in France and in the international subsidiary, and has today a large audience. It explains Group’s steering principles, in terms of financial cycle, indicators, information systems, investments and cash management.
Furthermore the Guide has been declined to the main French subsidiary ERDF. Since then several reediting of the Guide have been made to cope with the Group transformations.
Key success factors
Looking back to this assignment we can highlight two main success factors:
EDF top management commitment which gave us access to the Group Strategy, necessary to make sure that the guide was aligned with this strategy and a relevant tool to help the Group successfully implement its strategy.
