Effective Management System for HSE
How effective and efficient is your HSE (health, safety and environment) management system? How much time and effort is required to prepare and consolidate company data and prepare HSE reports?
How BearingPoint brings value
-
Do you plan your HSE activities? Do you have enough information to control your HSE operations?
-
Do you record all HSE incidents? Do you always control post-incident and impact reduction actions?
-
Do you have corporate reporting standards for HSE? Do you have a single corporate reporting system?
-
How much time and effort is required to prepare and consolidate company data and prepare HSE reports?
-
How accurate is your reporting data? Are there any differences between corporate and external statutory HSE reporting? Can these differences be analysed?
Our solution consists in two components:
-
Single database for HSE activities, incidents and prevention and/or effect mitigation
-
Preparation and approval, consolidation and generation of HSE reporting
The solution is based on the SAP QM and SAP BW technology. There is no need for the client to acquire a costly SAP HSE component.
An implemented HSE solution offers the following benefits for the client:
-
Reduced scope of data provided by subsidiaries will be achieved by eliminating double entry data and automatic calculation of all metrics (such as accrued totals). This, in turn, will reduce the effort in reporting and possibility of errors in the final data.
-
Less time is required to prepare, verify, consolidate and analyse data. This will be achieved by automating the consolidation process and using system analysis tools.
-
All subsidiaries use a common standardised HSE methodology and report templates.
-
Improved quality of information achieved through the use of system controls for inbound data accuracy and data analysis tools.
Processes to benefit from the solution:
-
Collection, standardised presentation and update of HSE data. Data will be gathered by download from transactional systems, direct entry in the system and/or loading from templates (for users with no system access).
-
Authorised access to HSE data for analysis and reporting at all levels of corporate organisation:
-
Prepare ad hoc and periodic reporting according to corporate standards.
-
Prepare statistical reports to government bodies.
-
Corporate standards define the scope and formats for corporate reporting. For example the following reports package has been implemented as part of the solution for a company:
-
Weekly incident report
-
Monthly HSE report (based on the U.S. Occupational Safety & Health Administration Occupational Safety and Health Act)
-
Quarterly environmental protection programme report (environmental protection costs)
-
Quarterly industrial safety programme report (industrial safety costs)
-
Annual environmental protection report
-
Monthly alcohol report
The control reporting ensures controlled provision of information to subsidiaries by preparing service reports. In addition corporate reporting data may be compared with the external reporting data.
