Technical Consultant - ABACUS/Solvency II

Responsibilities:
BearingPoint is recruiting IT Consultants to join our London office as a member of the ABACUS/Solvency II team who provide professional consulting services in the area of Solvency II reporting as well as related Finance and Risk topics. BearingPoint offers its insurance clients a comprehensive solution portfolio in the area of Solvency II (SII), including our regulatory reporting solution ABACUS/Solvency II.

Your tasks within Solvency II related client projects will include the following:

• Implement, customize and support BearingPoint’s SII reporting solution together with our clients.
• Perform detailed gap analyses on customer environments with regards to compliance with the new regulatory requirements.
• Conduct design, testing, implementation and technical integration of reporting solutions, especially
• Source system profiling
• Database analysis/design
• Development of web-based interfaces and interface files based on XML report generation
• Data transformation (ETL – extract, transform, load)
• Support of software testing activities
• Develop processes and policies to manage customer reporting environments.
• Provide/manage training and documentation.
• Participate in marketing and sales activities.

Required competencies:
As an IT Consultant in the area of Solvency II, you have good understanding of IT topics in particular with regards to databases, database and interface development, information management and operational processes within complex IT system environments.

• Graduation from a recognized college or university preferably with a major in computer information systems, management information systems, computer science, computer engineering.
• Relevant working experience and know-how in the areas of database design, data warehousing, or interface design preferably in the insurance, banking or consulting industry.
• Very good level of SQL know-how and the implementation of interface files based on XML/XBRL.
• Skills in the use or installation/management of ORACLE databases (preferred).
• Fluency in both German and English (both written and spoken).
• Motivation for problem-solving (analytical/process thinking) and continuous improvement.
• Good team player with a high level of personal initiative.
• Strong client service orientation and attitude.
