Despite of the continuingly low interest rate environment and the major losses due to meteorological disturbance the Swiss insurance market was able to present good results and a solid growth in the year 2012. The Swiss insurance-agent market is characterized by increasing competition and crowding-out. However, this sales channel remains important in the future and the proportion of the total market will continue to grow.
