  • John Zeppos, Managing Director of Resilience Guard GmbH

    John spent the first nine years of his career in the banking sector, focusing on Information Security, followed by 12 years with T-Mobile Group leading the international Business Continuity and Crisis Management practice as Group Business Continuity Management Director. In 2014 John founded Resilience Guard and currently represents DRI (Disaster Recovery Institute International) in the DACH Region, as well as being the NATO Expert on Operational Capability for Critical Infrastructure. John’s achievements and opinion leadership have been internationally recognized by his peers, leading to him having twice won the BCI Global Business Continuity Awards – Business Continuity Manager of the Year 2012 & 2014. John has led numerous ISO22301 accreditations (Business Continuity Management) for several multinational companies within different business sectors. He has been a member of the Judge’s panel for the IRM Global Risk Management Awards since 2012 and a member of the Judge's panel for the BCI Global Business Continuity Awards for 2013 and 2015.

  • Tom Schons, BearingPoint, Business Consultant, Digital Transformation

    Tom started his security career as an intern in a major German bank in 2013, especially focusing on IT security risk assessments. In 2014, he enrolled in a master’s degree in IT security at TU Darmstadt, while working part time in a Frankfurt based consulting company focusing exclusively on IT security. After a short spell with Télécom ParisTech´s research center in Sophia Antipolis he graduated in early 2017 and joined BearingPoint Switzerland. While currently co-orchestrating the world's leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company´s global IT infrastructure migration onto the cloud, Tom also represents the BearingPoint Security Advisory team in Switzerland.

  • Sergiu Zaharia, BearingPoint, Technology Architect and Cyber Security Expert

    Sergiu began his security career in 1999 as IT security engineer with Defense Intelligence, focusing on network security and cryptology, gathering multi-disciplinary experience as Chief Information Security Officer with telco, banking and retail players. As Central Security Director of Telekom Romania, in 2010 Sergiu unified a wide range of security teams into one, directly reporting to the CEO. As a member of Business Continuity Management and Crisis Management groups of excellence in Deutsche Telekom, Sergiu benefited from a know-how transfer from top global cyber resilience experts. Currently he’s developing the Security Center of Excellence in Romania and provides security advice to customers across several sectors. Sergiu has a master’s degree and a merit diploma in IT Security from the Military Technical Academy of Bucharest and started his PhD in 2017, with the aim of improving application security review through machine learning algorithms.
