Achieving sustainable development requires collaborative efforts and coordinated actions from various stakeholders, including corporations and investors. The Sustainability Talk on Sustainability Reporting successfully brought together these two perspectives. Our notable guest speakers shed light on the implementation of regulations related to sustainability reporting from a corporate standpoint, and provided insights into how investors can utilize sustainability reports to guide their investment decisions. The talk emphasized the evolving regulatory landscape, investors’ expectations towards sustainability reporting, its implications, challenges, and best practices associated with implementing laws and regulations on non-financial disclosures.
Recently, more and more companies have installed a Chief Transformation Officer. The responsibilities of this role vary greatly from company to company. It is often intended to accelerate digital transformation, business model innovation, and/or growth. We focused on the Change Management part of it, and discussed how to successfully lead and drive such transformations as a CTO? In our discussion, we combined more than 100 years of experience in the field of transformation which we used to investigate two major aspects: employee motivation and the required skillset of the CTO.
In the first phase of the crisis, insurers had to maintain their operational capacity to (re)act and at the same time implement state-imposed security measures. The typical change curve with rigidity of shock and subsequent actionism could be broadly observed. Now the industry returns to a phase of consolidation. According to Niklas Elser, the necessary actionism in the crisis allowed for many things to develop overnight and the crisis created instant clarity about pending digitization plans. However now, these initial achievements must be combined with an overarching strategy, otherwise event the best approaches will be lost.
