At the time when the opportunity at BearingPoint came about, I had had many great years with a major player in the payments industry, and I did not intend to move. However, the title and description of the opportunity at BearingPoint piqued my curiosity. Through the hiring conversations, my first impression of BearingPoint gave a strong conception of a local and global organisation full of friendly, open, capable and ambitious people. When I additionally got to learn more about BearingPoint and the ambitions for the Denmark office, I could simply not refuse to join the team in Copenhagen. I can today say that my first impression of the people that I now with pride can call colleagues, has proven to be right!
I was excited to start right away on a full-time project with an important customer, which I am still part of. The project has been very giving: getting to know the customer and the people, engaging in doing something of value for them, and learning something new every day.
A normal workday as part of the project management team includes dialogue with the above team and with a range of stakeholders and contributors, supporting the completion of the project and securing quality and timeline. The sense of something being at stake, and that I am here with a clear and defined purpose to get us over the goal line, gives meaning to my day.
My background in the cards and payment space is very useful, but even more important is the ability to solve problems together, be inquisitive, keep oversight, and be proactive. I am very happy about the role and the people I work with every day.
If you get butterflies, by the idea of part-taking in establishing a consultancy in Copenhagen and being part of defining a workplace that you and the rest of us want to visit every day (at least when you are not working at the customer), then joining us might be for you. We in the Cards & Payments team are driven by working with products and services that are used every day by everyone and need to work every time. We have great ambitions, and Copenhagen and Denmark is a fantastic scene to be part of when working in our line of business.
