As the responsible partner for all subjects related to payments, I am focused on supporting leading banking clients to implement the needed technologies, improving their operations, increasing their efficiency, introducing new products, and migrating their client and product portfolios to new systems.

I started my career in 1988 at Degussa Bank, afterwards I was head of cash management at Allgemeine Ortskrankenkasse (AOK) Hessen for 4 years before joining BearingPoint in 1998. I am partner since 2011 and leading our service team for payments.

Throughout my carrier I focused on payment related topics, from

  • SEPA implementation,
  • payment system implementations, to
  • TARGET 2 consolidation,
  • SWIFT ISO migration,
  • Request-to-Pay (RTP), up to the most recent topics as the
  • introduction of a central bank digital currency (CBDC).

In 2018 I was founding member of the Westhafen Expert Dialogue which is an open forum for corporate clients, banks, and PSPs to contribute their expertise in setting new standards and defining best practices in the area of Instant Payments (IP) and Request-to-Pay (RTP).

During the last 3 years we conducted surveys in the DACH region regarding payment preferences and habits. The results of our surveys are published by a wide range of newspapers and media outlets.

As a father of 4 children, I know and live the life of a team player, this also reflects into our teamwork in the payments team.
