Delivering excellent results and learning from different projects
My long term goal is to start up my own company, and, through that company, have a positive impact on the environment and society. To be able to realize this long term plan, I recognized I needed to develop crucial business skills and understanding. Thus, after completing a master’s degree in computer science at NTNU, I started in BearingPoint’s Information Management (IM) team in the fall of 2009.
After one and a half exciting years working on IM-projects, having to tackle both technical and business related challenges, I decided to make a move towards the more business focused side. In the winter of 2012, I was transferred to the Business Strategy and Transformation team. As a result I became more aligned with my passion, and focused on the crucial skills I had set out to master. So far, my most valuable development has been learning skills and habits such as leadership and self-leadership, personal efficiency, a structured approach for problem solving, communication and operational insight.
Choosing BearingPoint was an easy decision. Firstly, the people I met at BearingPoint during my interview were exactly the kind of colleagues I had dreamt of: extremely competent, energetic, dynamic and young professionals, all willing to give what it takes to deliver excellent results for our clients. Secondly, BearingPoint's focus on the operational side of business, helping clients realizing their strategies, fitted my development goals. And finally, I liked the entrepreneurial culture in the firm. BearingPoint Norway is, by all standards, a small company, employing only 50-60 consultants. As a result, even as a rookie, I was encouraged to take on important responsibilities, both on projects and in internal work, thus, accelerating my personal development.
I'm motivated by delivering excellent results through working together with my colleagues and clients on challenging engagements. Furthermore, I'm motivated by getting to know new clients and industries and to experience different types of challenges.
To me, an inspiring work environment needs to be challenging, filled with exciting team spirit and seasoned with a wide variety of different tasks. I find that BearingPoint scores high on all these factors, thus living up to my expectations.
