BearingPoint is delighted to continue our support for the development of the next generation of Irish hockey talent as part of Hockey Ireland’s Pathway Programme. As Official Tour Partner for the Ireland Girl’s and Boy’s U16 teams for the 2024-25 season we look forward to following their journeys and participation in tournaments in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands over the coming months.
This partnership underscores our commitment to supporting the development of young athletes and promoting the sport of hockey in Ireland.
- Hockey in Ireland offers a unique opportunity and environment for young players to develop as individuals and team members, and represent their country in international competition:
- Hockey Ireland has approximately 35,000 registered members across over 280 schools and 160 clubs, of which 75% are junior players.
- The Pathway Programme provides equivalent structures and support for both girls and boys to develop from the schools, club and provincial systems through U16, U18 and U21 national levels.
- At senior levels, an Irish Women’s or Men’s team has represented Ireland at each of the last three Olympics in Rio, Tokyo and Paris, and regularly compete in tournaments all around the world, including this season in Chile, Argentina and India.
- As an all-island sport players, families and fans from across all four provinces have the opportunity to cheer, sing and wear green for Irish teams on a variety of stages (literally in some cases !) and maintain our proud tradition as the best sports supporters in the world.
- And while the focus of the Pathway Programme is on the underage U16, U18 and U21 teams, hockey also provides continued opportunities to represent Ireland at overage levels: from Over 40 to Over 70.
We are thrilled to support the Irish Under 16 Boy's and Girl's hockey teams. At BearingPoint, we believe in nurturing young talent and contributing to the growth of sports at the grassroots level. This sponsorship is part of our broader initiative to invest in the future of sports and youth development. We wish both teams the best of luck in their upcoming competitions.
