My Role

I manage the development teams working on R6 related projects and work with team members based in five different countries. We use an agile development methodology with two-week sprints. Because of the different locations, most of our meetings, including sprint planning, retrospectives, daily stand-ups and estimation meetings, take place over Skype. It is a fast-paced development environment with constant change.

Normal day

My day begins with the development teams’ stand-ups. After that, I attend SOS (Scrum of Scrums) meetings to get an update from the Scrum Masters of each development team. I liaise with the design, test and project leads daily in order to set priorities for the teams. I also monitor the development teams’ velocity and plan the capacity. The projects I work on are large and varied with multiple development streams and multiple deployments to client environments.

Outside the office

Outside of work, I am a busy mum with three children and an au pair! When I’m not bringing my children to parties, playdates or Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) matches, I like to read and listen to music. I am also part of the Coder Dojo group in the Dublin office. It is a really fun event and a great way to get children interested in programing! I am part of a musical family and there is usually someone singing or playing the piano or guitar in my house. I love cooking, baking and of course, eating. I also like to go running.
