My Role

I joined BearingPoint in September 2023 as a Business Analyst in the People & Strategy team after completing my Bachelor's degree in Commerce at UCD. My journey with BearingPoint began with a large-scale IT implementation project for a critical public service. This role allowed me to gain substantial experience in project management. I supported the project manager by tracking RAID (Risks, Actions, Issues, and Decisions) items using our internal tools, recording meeting minutes, organising documentation, and drafting presentations. This experience gave me a comprehensive understanding of tech project management and highlighted the importance of active listening to accurately track and address project health.

Currently, I am engaged in a client-facing support role for product implementation with a major pharmaceutical company. I thoroughly enjoy collaborating closely with our client to understand their needs and manage the product efficiently. This role provides a rewarding experience as I work alongside my team, clients, and customers to ensure the successful implementation of the product.

Normal Day

A typical day at BearingPoint is varied and dynamic. I might be conducting system testing and raising tickets for any bugs that arise or working directly with clients to walk them through the system, train them on their roles, and configure the product for their specific country. When not focused on client-related tasks, I engage in practice contributions, such as organising tag rugby teams for the sports and social committee, setting up blood donation drives with the IBTS, or participating in charity events like Hell and Back. My days are rarely the same and always fulfilling.

Outside of the Office

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends and engaging in hobbies like running and yoga. Weekends are often spent exploring new restaurants or dining out with friends and family, as I am a big foodie. I also have a passion for fashion design and upcycling clothes, and I attend classes on Monday evenings to hone these skills.

Why BearingPoint

With a broad range of interests and a business degree that opened many career doors, I was initially uncertain about my career path. My internship year and various career assessments guided me towards business analytics and consulting, where I found a perfect blend of creativity and analytical skills. A close friend recommended BearingPoint, and I quickly understood why. The collaborative and supportive culture at BearingPoint is refreshing, and the fun social events are a big bonus!
