My Role
I joined BearingPoint as a graduate after finishing college. I was drawn to consulting as I felt I would get to learn and work on a variety of different projects. I was looking for a role that would challenge me, allow me to learn new skills, and work with a diverse team of experts. My career in BearingPoint has certainly lived up to that expectation. I have been able to grow professionally through a variety of different projects, roles, and industries over the last 8-9 years.
Currently, I am working as a Scrum Master for a team of eight, I am responsible for facilitating the agile process and ensuring the team delivers high-quality outputs. This involves planning and prioritising the tasks, communicating with the client and other stakeholders, resolving any issues or impediments, and coaching the team on best practices. The project is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring constant adaptation and improvement. I enjoy the challenge of creating a smooth and productive workflow for the team and delivering value to the client.
Normal day
My day usually starts with a build team stand-up meeting, where we share what we have done, what we are going to do, and any blockers or risks. Then I join a daily call with the business stakeholders, ask them for updates on user stories for the upcoming sprints, triage any open questions, and align on the expectations and priorities. After that, I review the product backlog and the sprint plan and monitor the progress using the agile tools. Regular meetings with other project teams, the product owner, and the project manager help coordinate activities and maintain product quality and consistency.
Outside the office
I like staying active by doing pilates, hiking, or taking my dog Milly for walks. I really enjoy attending concerts and sports events, so I try to go to as many as possible each year.
