As one of the best supported professional rugby clubs in the world, Leinster Rugby’s goals for continued success on the pitch are mirrored by its ambitions to increase its fan base both in Ireland and overseas and provide a best-in-class experience for rugby supporters. As Leinster Rugby's Official Innovation Partner, BearingPoint supports the achievement of these goals by providing digital transformation, technology implementation and consulting services.

BearingPoint leads Leinster Rugby on their Journey into the Metaverse

Leinster Rugby and BearingPoint unveiled their shared ambition earlier in the year, as they hosted an immersive Metaverse event in four locations across Europe. Business partners, media and sporting stars attended through virtual reality technology in four locations across Europe including the BearingPoint offices in Dublin, London, and Paris as well as the Leinster Rugby Club facilities in University College Dublin.  Showcasing the convergence between the physical and digital worlds through cutting-edge technology, guests at the event entered the metaverse and went on a journey from the BearingPoint offices in Paris and finished with a pitchside experience and presentation in a VR built Aviva Stadium developed by the BearingPoint team.

Innovating off the pitch: How BearingPoint is working with Microsoft technologies to address the needs of Leinster Rugby

Seeking to reward their fans' long-time loyalty to the team, Leinster Rugby set out on a journey of innovation to completely shift how they interact with their supporters. In determining the solution for Leinster Rugby, BearingPoint focused on putting innovation and the supporter experience at the heart of the pre and post-matchday experience and worked with them to maximise the opportunities arising from the increase in touchpoints between the club and its supporters. The BearingPoint team identified that Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Power BI will deliver accurate and real-time data analysis for Leinster Rugby and allow them to manage fan engagement in a far more structured approach, which in turn enables them to communicate better with their supporters.
