By implementing a new service delivery platform, TÜV Rheinland achieves extensive transparency and cross-functional collaboration.

Amsterdam, May 11, 2022 – From the design phase until they reach consumers, products undergo advanced testing to ensure high quality and safety. Verification and certification apply to consumer goods and products for specific industries such as medicine, protective clothing, automotive parts and electronics.

In its recent client story, BearingPoint shows how it supported TÜV Rheinland, a global provider of technical, safety, and certification services for products, in becoming more agile and achieving transparency across the entire product lifecycle for both the company and its customers.

Management and technology consultancy BearingPoint worked with TÜV Rheinland Business Stream Products to create a product roadmap for different time horizons. The user-centric approach involved interviewing employees and customers for insights about their digital product feature needs. The joint team devised the roadmap for a flexible and service-oriented IT architecture that covered organizational, architectural and procedural strategic projects.

Real-time insights regarding project status, risks, and timeline

Using web technology and S/4HANA, they implemented a data-driven architecture, giving real-time insights for both TÜV Rheinland and its clients regarding project status, risks, and timeline. The team implemented ComPASS, a new service delivery platform following agile methodologies, to enable cross-country project teams to collaborate efficiently on program execution and effortlessly onboard 5000+ users in Asia, Europe and the Americas.

The new platform allows risk mitigation from early testing stages, enabling congruent quality adjustments, which improves time and cost-efficiency. By using a flexible and scalable project methodology, TÜV Rheinland enables end-to-end service accountability, more adaptability to changing requirements and shorter development lifecycles.
