BearingPoint pioneers unique postcode system

Dublin, November 19, 2013 - Management and technology consultancy firm BearingPoint will have a major role in a project to rollout the world’s first postcode system that uniquely identifies all mailable properties in a country. BearingPoint (www.bearingpoint.com) will be working as part of a multi-vendor team with Capita and Autoaddress.

The project will be implemented in Ireland where Minister for Communications, Mr Pat Rabbitte TD, recently announced that he had got agreement from the Government to implement a new system that will provide a unique seven character code to every ‘mailable’ address in the State by 2015^*. It will assist individuals, public service bodies and businesses in accurately locating homes and businesses in Ireland.
