Big data supports sustainability: BearingPoint‘s emission calculator LogEC presented “Best User Experience” award at the 14th SAP Automotive Forum

Solution for emissions calculation has been further developed by BearingPoint’s newly established center of excellence for real-time analysis based on SAP HANA®

Frankfurt, July 28, 2014 – Management and technology consultancy BearingPoint today announced that its LogEC emissions calculator was presented the “Best User Experience” award at the 14^th SAP Automotive Forum in Leipzig, Germany. The first emissions calculator in the market certified to major European regulation standards can now also be used with the SAP HANA® platform to perform emissions analysis in real time. LogEC supports companies putting in place sustainable processes by helping them analyze the environmental effects of transportation in a detailed way down to the individual item or parcel, as well as identify optimization potential.

LogEC has been successfully established in the market for three years and is used, for example, by the international parcel and express service provider DPD to detect emissions in a transparent, standardized and reliable way. BearingPoint has further developed the software within its center of excellence for SAP HANA with the purpose to perform real-time analysis. A version of the solution in support of SAP HANA was introduced in the first quarter of 2014.

Establishment of center of excellence for SAP HANA

Recently, BearingPoint established its firm-wide center of excellence for SAP HANA. The management and technology consultancy believes that SAP HANA allows a fundamental change in the digitization of companies. The main focus of the center of excellence is to help BearingPoint’s clients to identify and implement added-value business scenarios based on SAP HANA and to transform their IT landscapes. It also plans to develop additional innovative solutions based on this technology, such as LogEC.
