Last year was a breakthrough year for the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI). That was observed in our Digital Leaders Study as companies started to incorporate GenAI in their customer interactions, with over 50% of the researched companies actively utilizing chatbots or other AI-powered applications for consumer interactions. Companies have now started to adopt GenAI more broadly, with capabilities extending beyond functions such as chatbots or interactive FAQs. The future of GenAI promises even greater business adoption.
Consumers on the other hand continue to place ever greater importance on sustainability. Particularly Gen Z and Millennials consider sustainability when buying from or aligning themselves with brands. When younger consumers perceive a brand as being transparent on sustainability, they are significantly more likely to spend more on the brand than older generations. Digital Leaders are actively considering how to incorporate this development into their digital experiences.
The Digital Leaders Study reviews the performance of 86 companies across 13 industries by assessing 203 elements of digital experience for each company. Retail is the leading industry, something this study has observed for many years. It is inherently competitive and frequent customer purchases allow the industry to build a close relationship and detailed picture of purchasing behaviour. It has the best E-Commerce platforms and E-CRM strategies. In the report you will find how individual companies perform in each of these industries.
