A complete technical in-place conversion of existing SAP ERP system to SAP S/4HANA
- Transfer and adopt existing custom code (if possible)
- Only technical setup for mandatory simplification items
- Adopt innovations only very occasionally but at your own speed
BearingPoint, together with its partner SNP SE, recommends this proven method for selective data transfer in the course of the S/4HANA transformation.
In the “SDT - Shell Copy” process, a copy of the current production environment (PRD) is first created in a sandbox (SBX) that contains the ABAP repository and the configuration without master or transaction data. This sandbox is transferred to an SAP S/4HANA instance using the system conversion. Without master and transaction data, the conversion process is simpler and faster.
- Risk minimization: the productive system remains untouched
- Technically supported and flexible transfer of data, especially transaction data
- Flexibility: independent of existing systems, no dependence on period-end closings
- “Decoupling” the transformation from movement and master data to customizing and development
- Transformation and retention of “assets & IP” with simultaneous, selective innovation
Implement innovative business processes with best-practice content on a new, more agile platform.
- Transform (back) to standard software in a new global template
- Perform initial data load and retire old landscape
