I joined Magenta Advisory almost right after graduation in 2012 to work with the best colleagues in digital management consulting – and since 2015 I’m working with them as part of BearingPoint.
What type of work do you do?
My work consists mainly of project deliveries – I usually have a team of consultants with me and my main responsibility is to liaise with the client and to make sure the team has the best conditions to succeed, and of course ensure continuation and expansion of our projects. I work in the digital area specifically, and I’m currently helping a multinational client ramp up their new digital organization. In addition, I’m heavily involved in our recruitment and talent management activities, where my task is to ensure that we attract and retain the best people!
What’s your advice on how to succeed in the consultancy business and at BearingPoint?
For me, the key success factor has been to truly be part of an amazing team, so if there is one piece of advice I have to give it would be to always stick together with your colleagues. Surround yourself with people who are smarter and more knowledgeable than yourself and never stop learning. Secondly, I’ve never believed in the traditional “work hard, party hard (after)” mentality. In my opinion the key to succeeding in consulting in the long term is to have fun while you are doing it. These guidelines have brought me this far.
