I was delighted for this BearingPoint Institute paper to have the privilege of interviewing the German Minister for Transport and Digital Infrastructure, Alexander Dobrindt.
It is great to see that the Federal Ministry is working to meet the challenges of the #ConnectedCar world and to realise its benefits for citizens. Mr. Dobrindt has taken a forward-looking stance in the discussions over the legal and ethical questions thrown up by increasing automotive digitisation.
Real-world testing on the A9 Autobahn in Germany is further proof of the commitment of the Ministry to developing workable, real-world solutions to the practical and theoretical conundrums placed before us.
Placing automotive industry stakeholders from car makers to component suppliers and IT component producers in real world testing situations will help to ensure that these companies are ready for the big transition, allowing drivers to benefit from increased automation.
