I have been supporting financial services institutions for more than 20 years in implementing supervisory requirements across the three Basel pillars and in transforming their governance and risk management structures in the context of organizational change.

My personal areas of focus are non-financial risk management, organizational and operational resilience, DORA, ICT risk management, third-party risk management and the development of future-proof governance models for the AI-enabled bank. I advise financial service providers on how to translate regulatory requirements into effective, efficient and audit-proof management and control models and ensure continuous audit readiness. Together with my colleagues, I support our clients in particular in the following areas:

  • Developing and implementing effective governance frameworks that combine regulatory audit readiness with efficient design — in particular for the management and integrated steering of non-financial risks
  • Further developing the organizational and operational resilience of financial institutions — from the strategic target picture to audit-proof operationalization, especially in light of DORA
  • Ensuring supervisory-compliant structures and processes during organizational change, for example in post-merger integrations, carve-outs or the implementation of digital business models
  • Implementing regulatory requirements for outsourcing and third-party management as an integral part of ICT risk management and the steering of resilience risks
  • Developing and embedding AI governance as a link between regulation and business transformation, for example in the context of agentic finance
  • Preparing, supporting and following up on supervisory special audits as well as managing findings to close audit observations with the objective of sustainable remediation.

We assist our clients in developing target frameworks for their risk governance, as well as in establishing and refining appropriate risk management and risk control processes, particularly for non-financial risks. There is a growing focus on how to build a resilient and AI-enabled bank and establish a governance framework to meet future regulatory requirements as efficiently as possible and, in the long term, largely automatically.

I have more than 20 years of experience in management and technology consulting. My professional focus is on the implementation of regulatory requirements along the three Basel pillars, especially in the context of MaRisk and DORA, as well as on supporting organizational transformation projects. Prior to joining BearingPoint, I worked for 15 years in various roles at Sopra Steria and Sopra Steria NEXT, eight of them as a partner. Previously, I worked as a consultant for bank management and risk management at zeb.rolfes.schierenbeck.associates and in the strategy department of a leasing and structured financing company. I studied economics at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and received my doctorate there as a research assistant at the Department of Economics.
