Management and a small group of professional investors will take on the baton – Beyond to operate as independent technology company in the market.
Amsterdam, November 9, 2021 – Management and technology consultancy BearingPoint will spin-off its independent ecosystem orchestration and digital platform business unit (Beyond) to the current Beyond Management Team and a group of growth investors. BearingPoint will continue to serve as a business consulting partner.
The Beyond Management Team with Angus Ward (CEO), Barry Keane (COO) and Andreas Gabriel (CTO) is joining forces with a small group of investors to boost its market expansion in the US and globally. This will enable accelerated growth for the business as a SaaS-based company.
With this successful completion of another strategic lifecycle, we have shown again that we are very strong in developing a powerful combination of products and services and create market value. Thus, today’s announcement clearly marks another top accomplishment in our firm’s history, and the transaction is the basis for more focused growth in the future and thus more success – for our Beyond Team and for us.
Kiumars Hamidian, Managing Partner of BearingPoint
With the new ownership set-up, our Beyond business will be able to further develop its position in the market and push ahead with its international expansion. This is an exciting but logical next step in a journey we started four years ago when we introduced Beyond to the market. We have developed a strong business with a powerful go-to-market strategy that will continue to be executed under the new ownership and that will enable Beyond to expand and grow faster.
Angus Ward, CEO of Beyond
As for RegTech, the Beyond business has been part of BearingPoint’s Capital unit, and the entire transaction has been managed by the Capital M&A practice.
The BearingPoint Capital team has worked closely with Beyond Management to transition the business towards a software firm and position the business for its next growth phase. Having established this foundation, the timing is now right for a new ownership set-up to support Beyond in pursuing its global ambitions and to further accelerate its transition into a SaaS company.
Patrick Palmgren, Global Leader of Capital
Beyond’s customers and employees will not be impacted by the transaction. Both BearingPoint and Beyond will not only keep on serving their clients as usual but create further value through the new shareholders. The closing of the transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
