The management and technology consultancy expands its business in the United Arab Emirates

Dubai/Frankfurt, April 10, 2014 – BearingPoint (www.bearingpoint.com), one of Europe’s leading management and technology consultancies, has expanded its geographical reach with the opening of new offices in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. With the registration of branches in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and two offices in the country’s main centers, BearingPoint aims to develop new client relationships in this strategic region. In addition, BearingPoint will be better positioned to address the increasing business activities in this key market and the demand of its major European customers to provide local consulting services and talent.

BearingPoint’s business focus in the UAE will be on financial services as well as government and defense. The consultancy supports, for example, the sustainability and renewable energy community in the UAE to position it in that large and rapidly developing market. Currently BearingPoint is executing a major project covering an interactive information platform for renewable energy patents, standards and their financing.

Assessment of investment opportunities

Key challenges for the international investment community in value capture is to find the proper investment opportunities and to assess what are the best new businesses and services to develop. During the value creation process, a key driver is a comprehensive understanding on how to transform business operations and IT. BearingPoint is currently executing an assessment project on an international investment opportunity for Faisal Holding. His Excellency Sheikh Khaled bin Faisal Al Qassimi at Faisal Holding states: “The fact that our consulting partner in designing and implementing business transformation will now be present in the United Arab Emirates market is very important to us. For us this is an additional advantage in terms of further cooperation with an international consulting company with a rich industry experience.”

Peter Mockler, Managing Partner BearingPoint, states: “We serve our clients all around the globe. In countries outside our home territories we do this in part through our strategic alliances. In addition, we open our own offices in regions in which our local and international clients see their future business potential. Thus, we go where our clients need us to be. The entry to the United Arab Emirates is a major milestone for BearingPoint. This will enable us to use our global experience to contribute to the solution of key challenges our clients face in the UAE.”

Riku Santala, General Manager BearingPoint UAE, states: “The objective is to leverage our successful, international services and cutting-edge solutions, and adapt them to the requirements our clients have in the United Arab Emirates. This includes the risk, compliance and digitalization solutions for financial services clients, as well as logistics solutions and eServices for governmental and security organizations.”

BearingPoint is now locally present in 18 countries.
