To bring sense back into international aid

Based on our field experience, as well as research and discussions with specialists in public development and international technical co-operation, this publication includes seven principles that meet the challenges of donors, recipient countries and companies providing technical assistance.

We believe that technical assistance will be most effective if it makes sense for the three key players below:

  • Donors who are accountable for public funds incurred.
  • Recipient governments, responsible for the proper use of such aid.
  • Companies that implement the technical assistance and provide expertise in the field.

Once this is established, justification of any difference between objectives and results will be easier to establish for Official Development Assistance, based on application conditions.
