What Personal Data will BearingPoint collect?
When you apply for a job or are contacted by the Recruitment team for a job at BearingPoint, we will collect and use personal data about you during the recruiting process. We collect personal data about the individual (“You” “User” “Candidate” “Data Subject” “Applicant”) under the following circumstances:
Make an application through the Service or otherwise, adding personal data about themselves either personally or by using a third-party source such as or LinkedIn; and
Use the Service to communicate with our Recruitment Department, adding personal data about themselves either personally or by using a third-party source such as or LinkedIn.
BearingPoint collects a range of information and documents through the Service during our recruitment process including:
Your name and contact details;
Your qualifications, experience, skills and employment history;
Date you submit CVs/letters/other written materials;
Whether you have the eligibility to work in Romania;
Your current salary and benefits and salary expectations;
Whether you have a disability for which we need to make reasonable adjustments during our recruitment procedure;
References from previous employers;
Information from - third-party sources such as LinkedIn;
Data provided by third-party placement firms; in these cases, you must have provided your consent to these placement firms already:
Information from interviews and telephone discussions that we may have, if any;
Details of the type of job you are looking for, current and/or desired salary and other terms related to compensation and benefit packages, resettlement wish or other job preferences and type of favourite organisation;
Details on how you found out about the position you are applying for;
Information from references and/or information received from background checks (if applicable), including information provided by third parties; and/or letters of recommendation;
Information on any history of previous employment relationships;
Other information that the User provides through the Service or during the recruitment process;
We collect data from third parties, such as, LinkedIn and through other public sources. This is referred to as “Sourcing” and is manually performed by our Recruitment Department.
We collect data through references, when someone working for us provides us with your contact information: name, e-mail and telephone number so we can call and explain you more about the job.
We collect data directly from you, when you apply for an opening position, either way: through our website or by e-mail. Your submission of personal data indicates your interest to participate in the recruitment program and allows us to process your data and engage in further discussion in relation to your candidacy.
You are not obliged to provide any requested information to BearingPoint but failing to do so may result in not being able to continue your candidacy.
We further inform you that personal data you provide during the recruiting process may be transferred to BearingPoint Group entities for the purposes of the candidate procedure, for potential other open positions or recruitment events, including by entering into data transfer agreements where necessary.
The legally required details from your personal data will also be stored as hard copy in our HR department should you be employed by the company subsequently.
We may also obtain information from former employers to perform reference or background checks as appropriate. This information will only be used in the recruitment process and will be deleted at the end of the process.
To the extent the personal information you voluntarily provide for the candidate process contains details of your: racial or ethnic origin; physical or mental health or condition; job evaluations or educational records; commission (or alleged commission) of an offence or related proceedings; political opinions or beliefs; religious beliefs; sexual orientation; membership of a trade union or political party, BearingPoint will handle such details for the purposes of your job application and the candidate procedure, only with your expressly previous consent.

We take reasonable precautions to safeguard the personal information gathered in the recruitment process td and stored on our servers or the servers used for the Service. Unfortunately, no method of transmitting or storing data can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Do not send sensitive personal data via email. It is your sole responsibility to use the appropriate level of care whenever communicating with us.

The Website and any recruitment process are not intended for minors under the age of 18 or the lawful age of employment (whichever is greater) in any country in which we operate. If we discover minor personal data in our database, we will delete it.
If your application for employment is unsuccessful, BearingPoint may nevertheless continue to retain and use personal data collected during the recruitment process in order to consider you for new positions for a period of maximum three (3) years, based on our legitimate interest, as our main business purpose is recruiting. After this period, we will send you an explicit consent form in order to be able to keep your information in our database. If you don’t accept to remain in our database your data will be deleted. When you submit your CV or other information to BearingPoint again in the future, we will treat you as a new candidate and follow the retention periods and legal grounds mentioned above.
If you are given and accept an offer of employment by BearingPoint, personal data collected during your pre-employment period will become part of your BearingPoint personnel records, to be retained throughout and for a period after your employment with BearingPoint.
The personal data collected through the Service and through Romania’s online career website(https://www.bearingpoint.com/ro-ro/our-people/careers/) is stored and processed inside the EU/EEA, such third country that is considered by the European Commission to have an adequate level of protection, or processed by such suppliers that have entered into such binding agreements that fully complies with the lawfulness of third country transfers (as Privacy Shield) or to other supplies where the adequate safeguards are in order to protect the rights of the data subjects whose data is transferred.
