Out of numerous applications from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Romania, nine student teams were pre-selected for the grand finale of Be an Innovator 2018 in Berlin. The event took place at the co-working- and event space “Factory Berlin” in Berlin Mitte, in midst of young entrepreneurs and innovative. With the support of their BearingPoint coaches, each team presented its pitch and faced challenging questions from the BearingPoint jury.

This year’s final teams were:

  • Stuni (Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Umwelt Nürtingen-Geislingen)
  • Insoro (Bergische Universität Wuppertal)
  • PAVE (TU München)
  • Ekipa (Goethe Universität Frankfurt)

  • Skinow (HSG Universität St.Gallen)
  • Conode/Subbr (ETH Zürich)
  • Dicronis (Università della Svizzera italiana Lugano)

  • 4people (Universitatea Tehnica Cluj-Napoca)
  • ClarK (Academia de Studii Economice Bucharest)

All the exciting, innovative and creative ideas made it very difficult for our jury to pick 3 winner teams, but after a long discussion, the decision was made:

1st Prize: Team ClarK (Romania) – 10,000 Euro and one year consulting from BearingPoint

Vlad Macelaru and Costin Costea from Team ClarK presented their AR (Augmented Reality) industrial smart glasses especially developed for the automobile and logistics industry. The smart glasses can provide employees more security and efficiency within the working process by simply localizing and identifying errors digitally in the process.
The team now has the opportunity, with the support from BearingPoint, to realize their idea and to take the next step with their start-up.
Vlad Macelaru states after being announced this year’s winner: " "The opportunity to participate in the Be an Innovator competition and also visit Berlin motivated and got us working on our prototype and presentation. Everyone there was very well prepared and we learned a thing or two from every team. We're honored and happy to come back home with the prize and to see that our idea got validated once again.”
